The Grand Forks County Correctional Center (GFCCC), located at 1701 N Washington street, Grand Forks, North Dakota, opened in September of 2006. It houses both sentenced and non sentenced inmates for all municipalities located within Grand Forks County, Grand Forks County, North Dakota State Penitentiary, Bureau of Prisons, ICE, Border Patrol and United States Marshall agencies. GFCCC is an adult only facility with a capacity of 245 inmates. Flexibility of housing allows for the holding of both male or female inmates in separate living units. GFCCC was built with safety, security and ease of movement in mind.
GFCCC boasts a large garage which allows a large number of police cruisers, or emergency vehicles to park inside the secure cordon. Inside the booking center is doubled up to allow multiple bookings to take place simultaneously.
The center has its own visitation center where up to 30 visits can take place at the same time. The visitor area is outside the secure cordon, allowing visitors to make visits and depart the center quickly. Visits are made via video monitors to the inmate's accommodation. The facility also houses it own work release and electronic home monitoring department.
